Data Model Design & Implementation
Optio provides data model design and / or implementation services for both dimensional and relational models. Our services here may form part of a larger delivery or specific data modelling roles within projects.
We have a wide base of commercial experience modelling and implementing solutions for both OLTP and OLAP solutions stretching across many industry sectors, including telecommunications, finance, transport, call centre, tourism, ticketing, asset maintenance, retailing and credit management.
ETL Design & Implementation
Optio understands the principles behind sound ETL design and have built ETL engines from the ground-up. Rather than just posessing a familiarity with the use of ETL tools we are able to ensure that ETL process(es) once developed will be robust and scalable enough to survive the enterprise environment.
We are well versed in a variety of ETL tools including, but not limited to, Informatica, (Business Objects) Data Integrator and (Microsoft) Data Transformation Services.
Business Reporting
Optio staff are skilled in business report development. With a strong commercial background in business we are able to grasp, and work with, the business drivers behind the reporting needs. Optio has built reports for large national and international companies as well as SMEs and have experience working with Crystal Reports, Business Objects, InfoMaker and Microsoft Reporting Services.
Quality Assurance Reviews - Data model, Database, Data Mart / Warehouse, ETL process
Optio has the ability to perform quality assurance reviews over a variety of data tier components. Where required we are also happy to work with existing development or design teams to a ensure a satisfactory solution is designed within the boundaries of cost restrictions and data quality.
Database Performance Tuning and Troubleshooting
Optio has commercial troubleshooting experience in medium to large database installations. We are able to provide services ranging from periodic system health checks (incorporating preventative action where required) to the investigation and resolution of specific performance issues in applications that interact with some form of database.
We offer troubleshooting and tuning services for both OLTP and OLAP systems across a variety of database engines including SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and DB2.
Project Management
With significant experience in the business environments of Banking/Finance, Telecommunications, Transport, Call Centre, Retailing and Travel Industries, Optio can provide Project Management expertise and guidance for your next ICT endeavour. Our Project Management methodology follows the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) framework from the Project Management Institute (www.pmi.org). Utilising a proven project management methodology minimises the risk of producing undesirable project outcomes.
Business Analyst Services
Optio has provided business analysis for many companies of varying sizes. Optio analysts are skilled at illiciting and analysing information with a particular strength in the business intelligence and data warehousing domains. Our focus in this area lies not only with gathering and understanding technical or functional requirements but uncovering potential technical or project risks whilst conducting the analysis processes.
Data Analysis
With our extensive background working with all manner of data sources we have proven experience investigating and profiling data. We are able to provide profiling and data analysis services for projects in which data integrity is critical or potential ETL process risk must be known ahead of the implementation phase.
Database Administration
Optio offers database administration services for a variety of database systems including SQL Server, Oracle and DB2. We are comfortable working with both transactional and reporting implementations and are able to supply relief and / or overflow resources as required.
